Chameleons are primarly insectivores, but will also eat fruits and plants, so they are omnivores.

They have a very simple digestive system.

Process:

  1. Food is chewed up with their small triangular teeth by moving jaw and is

  2. pushed down the esophagus with help from the tongue

  3. into the tubular stomach

  4. through the intestinal tract

(where acids and exymes break down the food and nutrients are absorbed)

  1. waste exits out through the cloaca.
